Asy-Syir'ah is a scientific journal that publishes articles on issues related to shari'a and law. It serves as a platform for researchers, scholars, lawyers, and jurists to share and disseminate their research findings in these fields. The views expressed in the articles are solely those of the authors and do not represent the editorial board's opinions. Asy-Syir'ah is published biannually, in June and December.

Asy-Syir'ah was first published in print on Muharram 1, 1386 (April 22, 1966), and launched its first online edition in 2015 and gradually trying to upload its printed version to be availaable on OJS. The journal received a "B" accreditation from the Directorate General of Higher Education through Decree No. 36b/DIKTI/Kep./2016, which was valid from May 2016 to May 2021. Furthermore, Asy-Syir'ah has been accredited as a "Sinta 2" journal for the period of January 2021 to December 2025.
